Scout Bot

The Scout Bot is an automated content opportunity discovery system that finds trending topics and content gaps in your niche.

Overview

Scout Bot runs on a configurable schedule and uses multiple strategies to find content opportunities:

Hunt Strategies

Discovers keywords with rapidly increasing search interest.

  • Queries Google Trends directly for your niche keywords
  • Identifies "Breakout" keywords (massive growth)
  • Supports English and Spanish markets

Uses data cached from the Rising strategy to find currently trending topics.

  • Zero additional API calls
  • Cross-references with existing content to avoid duplicates

3. Gap Filling

Analyzes your existing content database to find:

  • Keywords you've researched but haven't published
  • Topic clusters with missing subtopics
  • Underperforming keywords worth retrying

4. Adjacent

Explores related topics from Google Trends:

  • Finds keywords adjacent to your niche
  • Identifies cross-niche opportunities
  • Expands your content footprint

5. Niche Expansion (Google Ads API)

Uses Google Ads keyword data to find:

  • High-volume keywords in your niche
  • Low-competition opportunities
  • Runs asynchronously (separate from the main hunt cycle)

  • Trend velocity (rising vs. declining)
  • Niche relevance
  • Content gap size

Top opportunities (P1_URGENT) are automatically recommended.

Deduplication

Scout Bot prevents duplicate opportunities:

  • Checks against existing database topics
  • Within-batch deduplication
  • Keyword registry cross-reference
